Parish Religious Education

CCD - Confraternity of Christian Doctrine

CCD provides religious instruction for children from pre K - 4 through Confirmation. All CCD classes are held on Sundays at 9:30 am to give families the opportunity to attend either the 8:30 or 11:00 am Mass together.

Additional classes are scheduled for older children who have not been baptized or have not made their First Communion.

We have a monthly Children's Mass during the CCD season and a one week Vacation Bible School each summer. Children of all denominations are welcome. There is always a need for CCD  teachers, music ministers, substitute teachers and aides.  All volunteers must complete the Virtus Protecting God's Children program

For a number of years. our Education Fund has helped young people attend Catholic schools and college when they could not otherwise afford it. Sale of these certificates have been the major source of revenue for this fund.  Unfortunately, our sales have declined, limiting our ability to adequately provide for our young people.  One reason for this decline is a misunderstanding about what Educational Fund Certificates are.

These gift certificates are redeemable at certain major merchants and restaurants in our area.   The gift certificates are treated as cash wherever you use them.  You pay the same price for whatever you buy.  The unique feature of these gift certificates is that a small percentage (usually 3-5%) of every dollar spent is returned to St. Peter’s for our Education Fund.  We have Educational Fund Certificates available for Winn-Dixie, Barracuda Grill (which is now open 7 days a week in Marathon) , Square Grouper restaurant, Big Pine Coffee Shop and a few others.  Don’t forget to tell your server at the Big Pine Coffee Shop that you are from St. Peter church!  It will be noted on your ticket, and at the end of each month, Sam & John will total the noted sales and donate a percentage of that total to the St. Peter Education Fund - no paper—fuss!  This month $88 was added to our Education Fund by the Coffee Shop

Please help our young people by making an effort to use our Education Fund Gift Certificates.

SUPPORT CATHOLIC EDUCATION - Gift Certificates For Education are on sale in the Parish Office and at the front of the Church after all weekend masses. Use these as you would your money and support our education.

Ask the "Gift Certificates for Education" sellers for information on other kinds of gift certificates that can be ordered.  We urge you to patronize these stores --  5% or more of all sales are added to the Education Fund.
