Fr. T delivers his homily on Family

Our pilgrims began their trip with a 10:00 mass in the chapel.  Father Tony addressed the pilgrims with a homily about the importance of making the pilgrimage as a spiritual family.

"We leave as a family, we pray as a family and we return as a family.    Your cares are my cares, my cares are your cares.  We are making the pilgrimage as one spiritual family."

Eva Carbone does the reading

RCIA and the Parish Community

You are invited to join the RCIA group for special learning and prayer sessions on the 2011 dates below.

Please take this opportunity to learn, to demonstrate your example of faith, and meet the RCIA candidates.

Rite of Christian Initiation – What is your Role as a Member of the Church?

St. Peter’s has been blessed with the gift of 6 candidates and 1 catechumen this year who are praying and learning on a journey of faith to become full members of the Catholic Church.  Over the next few months, they will participate in the community life of St. Peter’s.

It requires the full support and care of all the church members to support and welcome our candidates and catechumens.  Their initiation happens within the church community and they learn from us - our example of prayer, service and love show them the way to full discipleship.  You are the mentor in their apprenticeship in learning our Catholic Christian way of life.

Each of us is called to spread the message of our faith in words and actions in our daily lives.   By sharing our beliefs through conversation, offering warm and open hospitality, and by demonstrating our service commitment to others, we teach and welcome those seeking God into our parish lives in a special way.  Over the next few months, you will have the opportunity during community gatherings and our general worship, to pray and work with our catechumens and candidates and to show them the true spirit of love and service at St. Peter’s.
